ABOUT US
The Local Administrations Association, founded in 1989 to support local governments with legislative matters and address the challenges they face, has filled a significant gap in the field of local administrations, particularly for municipalities. It has compiled the laws, statutes, and regulations related to municipalities and made them available to municipalities. For example, before the Local Administrations Association was founded, 52 regulations concerning municipalities could only be obtained from the Official Gazette. The Local Administrations Association has compiled these laws, statutes, and regulations into two books. It has compiled these laws, statutes, and regulations into explanatory and practical books for experts to use and make them available to municipalities.
With 95 publications, the Local Administrations Association has become the first and only association in Turkey to have published 80 publications in 21 years, thanks to our books on legislation and scientific content. The Local Administrations Association publishes the latest legislative changes monthly in the Local Administrations Journal, simultaneously communicating the latest legislative changes and judicial decisions to all municipalities. It also provides a significant educational service by holding a monthly Training Seminar for mayors, municipal department directors, and employees. As the Local Administrations Association, our work continues at full speed to achieve development and progress through strong local governments, and to help Turkey achieve its 2023 goals.
The Local Administrations Association, headquartered in Ankara, coordinates local government and municipal affairs nationwide, organizes occasional training activities, and carries out projects such as Sister City Projects, National Real Estate Consultancy, and Solar Power Plant (SPP) projects. Furthermore, due to its Public Benefit Status granted by a Council of Ministers Decree in 2006, it also has the authority to undertake Joint Service Projects with local governments.
